Tate Eskew - Semiotics

This has been a long time coming, but as of today my new album Semiotics comes out today on Function Equivalent Recordings. I’ve spent an immeasurable amount of time on this recording. It has been recorded in my home studio over the past few years as I have moved around. At times, I had no studio and I wasn’t able to work on the album at all. Other times, I was so full of ideas I couldn’t get them down quick enough. This is the object of that process.

believe it or not, i’m running anywhere from 2-4 miles every morning and enjoying it. i’m seriously thinking about trying a duathlon in june. run 2 miles, bike 9 miles, run 2 miles. a big change from beer, programming, more beer, hacking, a little scotch or bourbon, etc. you see the trend.

as far as music goes. i’ll be playing with my friends nate dort and josh fuson in the coming months. we’ve decided to get together on occasion and play some music . a downtempo kind of project ala american analog set, LOW, Popol Vuh, etc. we’ll see where it takes us. we are also still working on the zero art project as well. hopefully we will be able to move forward sometime this spring. if anyone is interested in helping, please do not hesitate to go to the site and send me an email.

my semiotics album is on hold until the studio done. the albums is so very close to being done, but time is limited and going to another studio isn’t very convenient. it will get done, but who knows when. i may post some songs that are near completion so you can hear where they are heading.

the new homestead is close to being finished, which means the recording of Semiotics will be resumed. there are a few songs left yet to record and i hope to have them done by spring time or maybe even before the cubs play their first spring training game as they head into their 100th year of futility.

]]> http://www.tateeskew.com/2007/11/07/added-mailing-list/feed/ 0 records and baseball… http://www.tateeskew.com/2007/03/08/records-and-baseball/ http://www.tateeskew.com/2007/03/08/records-and-baseball/#comments Thu, 08 Mar 2007 16:48:45 +0000 tate.eskew http://www.tateeskew.com/?p=14 it’s a good time of the year. the snow is beginning to go away, the hard-headed easter lily is coming up and blooming and baseball is less than a month away. things are incredibly busy here as of late. i just finished tracking basics for the new sequoia album here at Zero Art Studio and spirits are high there. i’ve also found a little bit of time to work on Semiotics, which is taking much longer to do because I keep adding more and more projects to the plate.

Mock Orange was recently here at Zero Art Studio mixing their upcoming album, which is still untitled at this point I believe. it sounds good, trust me.

i also have recently completed a live Zero Art Radio session with Patrick Krief from The Dears. Patrick has just released a solo album that is really incredible. you will be able to hear the session on Zero Art Radio in the near future. there is also a podcast in the works surrounding the session.
