Tonight, my wife Amy and I get the pleasure of seeing Deerhoof at the Mercy Lounge here in Nashville. I was incredibly excited about this to begin with, but this morning I actually looked at the other acts playing with them. What can I tell you, I’m actually even more excited for the show now that I know R. Stevie Moore is playing. For those of you who don’t already know, Moore has released over 400 albums, EPs and cassettes. He proclaims it as his “sound diary” and it spans the gamut of spoken word, noise, prog, country, power pop, punk…you name it. I’m pretty sure there are labels that actually haven’t been invented yet that one would use to describe him and his music. I can’t wait.
